| Third Annual Circle of Arts Jan Hus Presbyterian Church and its Homeless Outreach and Advocacy Committee (HOAP) are proud to announce the The Third Annual Circle of Arts : Breaking Boundaries Among Artists: A Sharing Experience. Circle of Arts brings together artists from all walks of life to develop and install a professional art gallery. The Gallery Opening will be May 4th 2007 and the exhibit will be on display till May 31st. The Circle of Arts seeks to address the root cause of poverty in a dynamic way by addressing issues such as emotional satisfaction and social relationships in order to strengthen people's ability to achieve goals like employment, housing and a more dignified life. When talking about homeless generally the conversation focuses on people's lack of housing. However, in order to respond effectively to homelessness focusing on what is missing is not sufficient. The HOAP strives to acknowledge the talent and humanity of people who are treated as numbers in other settings. There are many artists and performers amidst the homeless community of Manhattan, many of whom are all too often denied the opportunity to share their work with the larger community. The Circle of Arts is a unique opportunity for members of the homeless community to showcase their work alongside that of artists who wish to support them at a beautiful and welcoming Upper East Side location. Sponsorships for the upcoming Circle of Arts range from the Supporter level at $100 to the Curator's Circle level at $2,500. Sponsors are recognized in the gallery catalogue and other promotional materials. Higher level sponsors also receive a number of complimentary tickets for our Artists Reception on Saturday May 19th 2007 other wise available for $50 each. All contributions to the Circle of Arts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent as allowed by law. We believe that by participating with us as sponsors of this event, you are contributing to the hope that it is possible for homeless men and women to rebuild their lives and find their way to becoming productive members of our community. Please call Caitlin Reilly at (212) 288-6743 or email her at caitlinhoap@janhus.org if you have any questions. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the Gallery Opening on May 4th and the Artists Reception on May 19th. Please see the enclosed information about how you can become a sponsor. |
